Many rumors and legends exist surrounding the vast and insidious network of ruthless criminals that call themselves the Moriati. Of my research the most probable origin of this network of corrupt ritualistic crime lords is found in the pre-Virus days when mankind still knew where the Earth <subjective opinion of the Agent, the Bureau does not share this view in any official capacity> could be located and the human race was approximately the same size as it has grown to these days. A collection of corrupt politicians partnered with drug traffickers to make runs all over the universe without legal implications. The profits from these operation began to fund bigger and greater operations in all spheres of life from blackmail, to prostitution, to assassination, hacking, reselling of illegal cybernetic and genetic parts, and illegal gambling operations.

Although it is believed that many internal revolutions have occurred and many regimes of different guises of the Moriati's have occurred the core system of criminal networking coupled with corrupt political and Governmental aid <ssubjective opinion of the Agent, the Bureau does not share this view in any official capacity> persists steeped in strange rituals and traditions washed in the blood of crimes spanning centuries.

Recently a source (that I shall not mention both for his protection and for mine) managed to retrieve a file from beyond the Governmental Firewalls within the Department of Governmental Defense and Protection that--once its several layers of encryption and limited array Viruses were broken through and nullified--showed a log kept of goods shipped through Government spaceports coming in and out of the Merchant System in exchange for some they call "the merchandise".

I wish to state officially that Agent Valentine is unaware of my investigation of this matter and she in no way can be or should be connected with my actions in this regards: I am going to dig deeper, I have links to follow and "the merchandise" to discover. I will begin with the DNA-tag imprinted into the record that is unmistakably AI-based. Probably a government drone-recorded that I can trace through to the manufacturer.

I could not trace the AI drone-recorder via its MNA signal that all information recorders have, as this was grey-washed by someone. But, I managed to correlate the references through their echoes in Deep Web (with the help of a small group of fringe Deep Runners) and triangulate it back to the small and remote icy planets of Yuggerra in Mnemonic System. This is a Code Zero system (i.e. only Government agents and authorized personnel are allowed within it) and my Agent status allowed me sufficient access to its records (kept only on the planet surface) for me to realize that the entire system was owned by the Yama-kuza Corporation.

I do not have access to the Bureau's corporate records from this remote windswept planet of ice and--lacking others that I can trust--I am forced to turn to Agent Valentine to investigate this suspicious organization for me.

The Yama-kuza Corporation is a subsidiary of another shell corporation that can be traced back through various legal entities, joint ventures, and special purpose entities to an agreement between MorgTron Inc. (a suspected Moriati money laundering vehicle) and the Lunar Government's Bio-genics and Medicine Research Council.

What were they researching? Why so far out there? And why was what they found hidden so well?

It's all destroyed!!! All of it!!! They broke into my starship amidst my cryogenic transportation. When I woke up all of the evidence of the conspiracy between the Government and the Moriati to do experiments on organic beings of an unknown origin...all gone, nothing left but what I have seen and read.

I am surprised that I am left alive after scraping so close to the Truth, but far from scaring me off this set back makes me more resolute in my determination at finding the Truth...that and I saw my name on the records for a number of years a decade before the date that the doctores believe I was born...
